In the Atlantic Ocean there's a mysterious stretch of water where over the past fifty years over 3000 ships and 100 planes have disappeared and gone missing. These vehicles range from super-size yachts, cargo ships to jumbo jets which makes it even stranger that a vessel that size can just vanish. However, they all have one thing in common. They all ventured into the Bermuda Triangle.

The tips of this triangle range from paradise destinations for tourists, from the sunshine coast of Florida to the sun-baked island of Puerto Rico and then the beautiful coral seas of Bermuda. However, the surrounding waters hold a mystery that has been known my many names ranging from the Devil's Triangle, the Devil's Seas, Graveyard of the Atlantic but the most infamous nickname for this area is the Bermuda Triangle.

This documentary is part of a series called 'World of Mysteries' and will explore all the myths and legends we have been told of about the Bermuda Triangle. What do we really know about the one and a half million square miles of empty ocean?

I think the biggest mystery is about all of these missing boats and planes is the fact that many times there is no debris found. The waters can be very shallow and if a plane goes down or a boat sinks you would expect to see something on the bottom of the ocean. But so many of these disappearances they don't find anything.

Submarines surely travel in the Bermuda Triangle. It'd be interesting to hear any experiences they've had if any came up missing.

2:32 that’s not a magnetic compass.
5:31 instruments don’t tell you where you are; you should know your location by your navigation and also a competent pilot knows how much fuel he has because he planned it based on the consumption rate.

In the 80s I was in Bahamas for vacation. Beautiful beautiful place. And yes, I WAS apprehensive about going into the 'Triangle'.

Rational analysis of the Bermudan Triangle mythology shows that nothing statistically unusual happened.

How many unmanned planes have been deployed to fly around the triangle to confirm these theories since no man is ready to physically venture on fact finding mission?

My Dad served in the Navy for 21 years, sailed and flew through the bermuda triangle and nothing strange happened. Not saying the Bermuda Triangle isnt responsible for the disappearances.

I read a book about this ages ago, one of the main theories was that that particular area has a lot of undersea volcanic activity which releases gas in the the water and eminates from the ocean. Ships/boats sailing on the ocean can sunk uncontrollably, aircraft flying able can be disables and crash etc, apparently it’s a scientific that that those gases in the water and or air, can disable boats and aircraft
It’s quite alluring that it’s something to do with skinny bob and his mates though.

I've read tones of books when I was young about it. Nice to see it now. But, books made me imagining - much better experience than the video ;-)

Many lost ships/boats are due to poor navigation shills of weekend sailors or un reliable navigation equipment.

They always trying to find logic for things that just can't be explained. That place no matter the reason should be avoided at all cost. That "phenomenon" had been going on for years and it will NEVER stop doing whatever it is doing. I tell you one thing tho'. That area in the ocean scientist will never find the answer to that. It will forever be a mystery and anybody's guess.
