Really appreciate you showing not only how to tie the knot, but also how to use it!

One of the most useful hitchs that an outdoorsman should know. When setting up my hammock tarp it is the best way that I have found so far to keep the ridgeline and the sides good and tight. Thanks

Good morning neighbor. I live across the valley from you. Really enjoy the videos my friend. Keep it up.

Great video Dan! I think it's worth noting that you can increase the friction by adding extra wraps, which is great for when things get wet or icy. I also finish with a slip knot backed up by an overhand on the resulting bight, since that makes it easier to release under load.

I was reading about this and a midshipman's hitch. Same number of motions, but a more secure knot. Have you considered it? Maybe they work differently in different kinds of cord?

It is called a guyline, not a guideline. Common mistake.
