My brother died in September 2022. 2 months from graduation. The most gentle spirit, kind, loving, funny. It all happened so suddenly, even now I struggle with this reality. This was my ringtone at the time, a few minutes after he passed my sister called and now everytime I hear it, it takes me back to that moment. I have been avoiding playing it since but today for no reason I found myself here. I hope one day I'll smile and not tear up when I come across it.

Once a year the people of Israel will make the long pilgrimage to Jerusalem. To prevent weariness they sang songs of ascent. This song Highlands is worhty to be included in their song set. For every time I listen to this song I feel like a worship team member driving to practice listening to the song set in my car for the first time. Every time a line hits me I'm banging on the dashboard while holding back my tears so the other drivers don't get weirded out.

I’m going through a rough time but I’m learning to be grateful for my struggles. They are greater blessings than any other God provides. It’s only by struggle that we grow. So I will praise the good Lord in the hard times and the good times. He is worthy of it! If you’re struggling remember Romans 5:3-5 -
