Garp said if Ace ever said “Garp help me” he would’ve immediately done so. Garp went onto the stage to see what Ace would say, and only shot Marco down because Ace said he wanted to die. However, once Ace turned around and said he wasn’t sure anymore and Garp allowed Luffy through.

Garp was conflicted because he has no sympathy for criminals, but Ace was more than just a criminal, he was family, and he has insane sympathy for family.

Garp protected Koby because Koby is with the Marines, he's a Bonafide Captain. Now, if Ace had been with the Marines, Garp doesn't struggle with his duty and how he feels about pirates especially while his whole squad is there, there's no way Garp could've just went and protected not only a Pirate but the son of Roger.

I think many forget about Pudding and her abilities. We saw Aokiji taking her hostage so we know she has to be somewhere around Hachinosu. With Garp we have one of the few people present who actually were there at God Valley Incident. With Pudding and her abilities Blackbeard will be able to actually see what happened at God Valley. I don't think he will die here. There is much more to the possibility of Garp being taken hostage by Blackbeard.

I don't think you can compare Garp protecting Kobi with Ace at Marinefort. As Ace was a pirate there was a conflict of interest which he doesnt have with Kobi

This chapter also fully shuts down the “Dragon is Garp’s son-in-law” theory by having Garp outright say that Dragon is his son.

I think Garp came to protect Koby as he could not save Ace because his role as a Marine blinded his love for Ace. SO he did not want Koby to die as he cared for Koby even though he is a partial marine and against the marine's bad things they do

Garp DOES sort of have a role. He is the only confirmed first hand witness of the God's Valley incident that is still alive.
Especially Blackbeard might be really interested in hearing about what transpired with Rocks.

I want Akainu to show up and have the spotlight as a hero that’s be quite the twist since Aokiji is now a villain to see them shift in the way we see them me personally would enjoy it

I think you said the magic word, Coby represents "Fair Justice" which adapts to the situation, much like Fujitora. Akainu represents "Absolute Juistice: Think of Garp/Coby relationship as Allmight and Deku.

Imagine current luffy pulling up to save his grandpa, the whole of grand fleet, the allied pirate crews, the wano allies etc.
I can only imagine the epicness of zoro, luffy and sanji absolutely destroying everyone on that island

I think Garp’s bounty and all the admirals bounties are 3 billion because Buggy didn’t want to give anyone a higher bounty than himself

After reading the latest chapter, I'm increasingly leaning towards the narrative that Aokiji is actually a good guy involved in undercover operations. Hear me out: we get to read a flashback in this chapter where Garp is having a temper tantrum about his son (Dragon) becoming a revolutionary, followed by him saying, 'And now my grandson says he's going to be a pirate! I won't stand for it!' Then, we return to the present with them fighting, and Aokiji says, 'You have a habit of raising enemies, ' which puts Aokiji in the same position as Dragon and Luffy based solely on Garp's temper tantrum flashback. From my own understanding, the term 'enemy' refers to enemies of the government. So, to really sell Aokiji's plan, Garp has to sacrifice himself by either getting killed or captured by the BB Pirates.

Honestly I think this arc will finally answer what Aokiji is looking for, the answer to what he should do even after being excommunicated. He would most likely freeze garp to contain him but not enough to kill him like what he did with saul. Aokiji is like a wondering ronin right now, no master, no companions to travel with and trying to understand himself.

Until proven otherwise I'm going to believe Garp was pulling his punches against Aokiji. I want to believe they're working together to solidify Blackbeard's belief that Aokiji is loyal and if that's true, maybe Aokiji got word to Garp that now would be the best time to free Kobi and all the slaves since Blackbeard and most of the crew had left the island to chase after Law. Aokiji could even freeze Garp solid, convince Blackbeard to keep the hero of the marines around as a living trophy, only to then unfreeze him later. Also, since we got the sorta official confirmation that Dragon is Garp's son I wonder if we'll see any kind of reaction out of Dragon when news of these events spread.

There is something important people dosen't understand about Garp not saving Ace, he didn't choose his job over family, he choose peace over family. The world was seeing everything that was happening at marineford imagine if the hero of the marine, the maximun symbol of strenght and peace just betrayed the marines to save the son of Gol D Roger, the people would feel betrayed, having no one to trust, pirates can be monsters and if the biggest and most well known marine betrayed justice what stops other marine from doing the same. Garp had to choose not to intervine failing to execute Ace and Garp betraying the marines would be to different reactions, in one the trust from the power of the marine decreases but the people still think they're on the people side, in the other one they lose all of the trust of the people and chaos ensues.

I think Koby is the son/grandson that Garp never had, i mean Koby has the determination to become a great marine. Something that never happened with Dragon and Luffy i think that is what Oda is telling us with Kuzan being a traitor student and when he told Kuzan about Luffy and Dragon.

Reverse Marineford was my favorite idea as well. The # of people who could get involved is insane: is there anyone who doesn't know Garp, who wouldn't either love him or love to kill him?

I also see a pretty good possibility of the WG abandoning Garp if he does get captured. He's supposed to be an instructor, and he just went AWOL. He was always a loose cannon that they only tolerated because of his strength-- strength that's hypothetically about to fail. And let's not forget how the marines are spread thin right now; they didn't want to help Koby either, so I can't see them going to save Garp. And who would make the call? Akainu, who'd probably say some nonsense like "Serves him right for being so weak. He's embarrassed the Marines."

But of course, Koby wouldn't stand for that (and he's Sword anyway) Luffy wouldn't stand for that. Hell, Dragon might not stand for that. Maybe it's time for a family reunion, lol. I wonder if Shanks would stay out of a 2vs1 emperor showdown with the One Piece at stake either. And that pretty much covers all the big names on the high seas, right? Could be crazy.

Edit: I forgot to mention the side note that if the WG won't officially get involved, they can consider whether to "never existed" the place too, so there's that side of things as well.
