What was the Millennium Falcon's Dish? What was the Millennium Falcon’s dish? The sensory dish, otherwise known as a Rectenna, served as a communication array to detect other ships. Whilst most YT 1300 light freighters were equipped with these, the one on the Millennium Falcon, was modified by Han Solo to be even larger than normal, and it was attached to a number of sensor suites, which scanned for atmospheric gases, as well as sensor jammers, to hide its true position from the enemy. Following the Battle of Endor, the dish was replaced by a rectangular version, but that was short lived, as its replacement after the Battle of Crait, reverted back to the circular model.
