Resisting Arrest? Really? Liberty demands that we put a check on POP Arrests. In this video Jeff Lotter discusses the different forms of Pissed Off the Police Arrests and the results of a recent jury trial.

The logical answer is to allow for attorneys to argue Jury nullification, but question remains how do we get there legally?

As a freedom loving American I stand for our liberties. Police do an overwhelming amount of good work for us, and many of my friends in law enforcement are red white and blue as they come. But the fact remains you have to keep the line.

About Jeff:
Jeff Lotter is a criminal defense attorney with a unique background. He spent six years in the US Army as a Military Police Officer, six years as a Florida State Trooper assigned to the DUI unit, and six years as a Deputy Sheriff in Orange County (Orlando, FL).

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the topic! I have permission from the person charged to post the video. I am willing to entertain some questions if you need clarification on this particular arrest.

There's no shame in what you did Jeff. Fighting an uphill battle, even a losing battle. Holds more honor than cherry picking your battles. Being a police officer is such a hard position. Putting people into high-stress situations and expect them to handle it responsibly 100% of the time is lunacy. It sucks that kids that are Starry Eyed and bushy-tailed that want to make a difference in this world have no idea of what they're getting into. No idea the responsibility, the ability to abuse of power or authority, or the stress they're going to endure. I always admire you as a lawyer Jeff you're a good guy. It's unfortunate what happened. But you knew the writing was on the wall from the start. And you did it anyway kudos.

The concept of "probable cause" should be a much higher standard than it is. In Florida, the police and the judges seem to ignore it completely...judges in particular..do not review or question false and/or questionable police arrest affidavits at all. They simply rubber stamp all of them. The charge of "resisting arrest" with or without violence is always added to whatever charge no matter what to persuade the case toward the prosecution...personally...I have left the State of Florida and will never return. It is "policing for profit" and some of us know it...Pissed off Police?...never met one in Florida that wasn't...and trying to escalate anything for an arrest...I have been arrested in Florida andthat's just my experience and I...as a man... have never harmed or victimized anyone in my life....
