The distances are absolutely mind boggling, just to leave our milky way its insane. I love hearing people like Brian talk about this stuff and you can tell that he loves his job.

2 million years at the speed of light, let that sink in

Basically, its imperative that we take care of the planet we're on!

Scientists normally do not use the word ‘never’. But he made a calculated leap that it’s so improbable to do intergalactic travel that he’s entirely comfortable with using ‘never’. That should tell you all you need to know.

Enjoy your time, now is all we truly have. This makes me hope for some higher purpose, something pulling the strings. Because if not, what a gift to be alive and how sad that I wont remember having experienced it.

What’s mind blowing is that the light we see from the Andromeda galaxy is 2 million years plus old. But if somehow, someway light futons had a consciousness, and you were a light photon traveling from the Andromeda galaxy to earth. The trip wouldn’t take 2 million years. It would be instant. It’s only 2 million years for the observer.

That just makes the notion of aliens visiting us that much less likely.

Putting it in context, it's absolutely insane to think we're floating out in the galaxy, nevermind the universe, all alone.

Wait a minute, if it takes 2 million years to send a message to Andromeda then that means the version of Andromeda we’re seeing is the one from 2 million years ago. How do we know that it still exists today ?

When I think of advanced civilizations, I don’t imagine technologically alone, but rather advanced in the way they think, behave and communicate. Given the estimated age of the universe, I think there are more advanced civilizations out there than we think, and we as a species are relatively young. Humanity is yet to achieve a level of peace and harmony to call ourselves advanced. ❤

Not with all the waste we spend, the hate we spread, the wars we have. Maybe if civilization became united and worked for something bigger such as this.

More mind-blowing-ness: There is no "now" that universally rules the Universe. That is brought out and made obvious by the unimaginable size of the Universe, but it likewise applies as well to the person sitting across the room from you. So, "out there" there may be a sentient being that is in our future, due to the nature of his distance from us and his movement relative to us (toward or away from). But to communicate with him, to get him to tell us what the future holds for us here in Mayberry is to use the estimable Brian's word "Forbidden".

I get all that. My thing is why is it all so far…? It almost feels like if there is life, we’re not suppose to meet each other for whatever reason. It feels like it’s on purpose

What’s interesting is that we are saying I’d impossible for us to travel because we are basing it off of what we know. There can come a day where there is some equation or some form of travel that will allow us to go beyond our own comprehension. I mean what 100-200 years humankind thought going to space would be impossible and yet here we are. Now we are advancing more and more everyday

If a race is able to enter our universe and attack us in our universe you must admit they are way more advanced, gog and megog attacked us before and will attack again

God is so amazing how He made the stars. And keep in mind, all the stars and galaxies are in constant movement and yet nothing is crashing together and wiping us out. No such thing as luck, its all the All Mighty.

One person had a Near Death Experience and the Light told them there are thousands of primitive and highly evolved beings. He saw one world where cavemen were fighting big strange animals and an evolved world where beings can telepathically open doors and communicate. The Light told him the reason why everything is distant is for a purpose which is that we cant involve ourselves into other beings evolutions. We all have to evolve our own ways and evolving into others evolutions would disrupt a lot of things.

I think the point is to reach a new level of humanity where we all live in harmony, are advanced scientists and have found at speed of light travel or wormholes.
