Mommy Long Legs Vs. Huggy Wuggy Chase Comparison

Comparing the Mommy Long Legs Chase Scene from Poppy Playtime Chapter 2 to the Huggy Wuggy Chase Scene from Poppy Playtime Chapter 1. They're both pretty good chase scenes.

In Huggy Wuggy's chase, there's more claustrophobic appeal to it, while in Mommy's chase, there's actualy intanse and heart beating moment that just screams "RUN FOR YOUR DEAR LIFE, MAN!!!"
But still, both are very nightmarish... And that's why I really enjoy Poppy playtime... 🤩

What makes Mommy's scarier is not just the fact she could appear literally anywhere. But the noises. My god the night mare inducing noises she makes. She was already creepy with that sweet but demented voice the whole game, but now that she's out for blood, she just sounds like some kind of demonic monster and she's just everywhere as well.

Mommy Long leg's music, and her sounds would've made the Huggy Chase all the more scary

I think what makes Mommy long legs more scarier than huggy wuggy is that the fact that Huggys was more claustrophobic and confusing cause the player had no where to go. MLL on the other hand has multiple phases to where the player has to think outside the box and use their surroundings to escape her with quick thinking.

Chapter 2 is a MASSIVE improvement over the first, huggys chase was basically: "QUICK, RUN IN TIGHT HALLWAYS WHILE MAKING A COUPLE TURNS FOR LIKE 2 MINUTES" but mommys chase is different, she chases you in multiple occasions, actually has A REASON to kill you, and of course the threatening countdown before the chase where she screams "one" if she gets you

I would have to go with Huggy Wuggy’s one, don’t get me wrong, MLL is freaking terrifying, but the fact she is very visible kinda shows when she is chasing you, she is very easy to hear, plus you have a little more breathing room when running due to the open space, and she gives you the chance to get away earlier. Unlike MLL, Huggy is a constant chaser, gives you no time to think and almost tears you to shreds with the vent lock slamming shut, he is also more quieter and if we don’t use the box, Huggy just smashes open the vent lock. Remember: This is my opinion.

mommy long legs chase is for sure more disturbing but I feel like huggys was more like surprising when you see him chasing you in the vents through the air vents is scary but mommy long legs is just very disturbing with her laugh and her death and her getting crushed by the machine meanwhile huggy just kinda got knocked down lol so overall i think huggys was more scary but mommy long legs death was more disturbing

Honestly, as horrible as the creatures were, I felt tempted to reach out to Huggy, or pull the lever to try and save Mommy Long Legs. Maybe it was their toy outside, maybe it was the way they went, or maybe it was just human nature. But seeing them die was just as scary as the chase scene, if not more for Mommy Long Legs.

Honestly, in terms of the chase and spookiness, I’d have to go with Huggy.

When MLL first appears and starts the chase, sure, it’s a lot more terrifying than Huggy, because his intro was abrupt, but it feels like MLL had too much emotion to make it seem scary. Huggy on the other hand, you KNOW that whatever it is, it wanted you dead, and nothing else; it was more like an animal. That’s my take on it.

Mommy longlegs’ chase scene gives off true horror vibes. I need more horror games to do things like that.

I like how there reaction to there deaths is a bit different, huggy wuggys personality is more of an animal than a person (probably because the torture huggy wuggy went through, being treated like an animal if that makes any sense) while mommy is a lot more reactivate, as she gets grinded by the grinder and also cries for help

I love how both can be cute and creepy at their first phase and now look utterly terrifying at their worst phase

I gotta be honest, while Chapter 2 is overall better, I think Huggy Wuggy's chase was better than Mommy Long Legs', and Huggy Wuggy himself is overall more terrifying.

It felt like Mommy Long Legs was just too easy to outwit and outmaneuver, and sure, she seemingly has no limit to how far she can stretch out her limbs, but I never felt like there was a point where she would just decide to say, "Screw the games, " and grab the player at any moment.

With Huggy there's this level of deception about him that makes him genuinely frightening. He's about three times your height, yet moves way faster than anything his size has any right to when he feels the need to move that quickly, and with the exception of the chase he's always just out of sight, but never far. Even the sudden appearance of the key in his hand is unnerving, because he could attack you right then and there if he wanted, but he didn't. To Huggy, it was way more fun to stalk the player, letting them get further into the factory, but never letting them believe for even a moment that they were safe from him. Not even in the vents, where something as big as Huggy is should not be able to fit in and still be able to move as quickly as he does.

I didn't feel really scared when Huggy is chasing, but mommy's chasing makes my heart beats so hard!
