I spent hours playing in this software - I think I even used it as a screen saver at times. Not shown in this clip is the Skull model, which looked very impressive when rendered as a glass material.

Yeah, I remember when this was doing the rounds. And as you said, it made me feel like a big leap in rendering was right around the corner! Oh the naiveté.
