It gets warm - is that a problem? Official Apple charger gets warm. That is how it is, even for high quality chargers for mobiles, laptops, cars and whatnot. But that doesn’t mean that every charger is safe.
I guess that this charger doesn’t get hot because the charger is slow. Some chargers may get hot while charging slow, that could be a risk factor. When doing reviews like this you need to measure the speed. Get a usb voltmeter. It costs 5 dollars.

I'm desperatly looking for a travel "duo" charger that can take care of my iphone 12 and Apple watch 6. if not duo, is there any 3rd party apple watch charger that you can recommend which stays cool is relatively close to original apple watch charger that is not expensive?

Good review, but this product is a dud. Don’t waste money on this product. Your better off buying the apple version and just spending vs spending a little and buying another product after this failed one.
