we really need some 9070 non XT comparisons as well since in europe XT and non XT model prices wildly different, its not 50 EU less like AMD advertised, its more likely 150-200 less since XT models are like 1000 eu or something

Thanks Daniel for this comparison! 9070XT is a 1440P Monster 100% and comes with the added FSR4 functionality in the rare cases you might want it. Feeling very lucky I got my hands on one for just over the MSRP locally on the release day. Phew! I really hope we see a restock at reasonable prices for everyone. Such a great product.

I have the 7900XT and do not care about RT. FSR 4 is the only real feature i care about if i was considering upgrading to 9070XT. But as always i upgrade every other generation. Prices here in my country are really weird as well. The 7900XT is 50-80 Euro cheaper than the 9070XT (if you could get the 9070XT which is out of stock everywhere).

I am a 50 year old gamer, i have seen ALL the development that happened with PC Graphics right from the start with CGA 320x200 4 color cards, when a hercules 700x400 monochrome display was an "upgrade". To me with my constantly diminishing vision those technologies are maybe somewhat important but really not for me. I am happy with fast framerates and if some things look a bit better with FSR 4 vs. FSR 3.1 i personnally am not going to put that into the account. I own a Radeon ASUS TUF Gaming RX7900XTX OC, and in this market i couldn´t care less about upgrading as i am playing Monster Hunter Wilds with HR Textures installed and it eats up 22 of my 24 GB of Memory. Without RT i am getting stable 60 FPS at highest settings, Don´t cheap out on VRAM for future Purchases is my personal Recommendation. Oh Edit: I am playing 1440p native without Frame generation or anything oh and with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D

Considering this is a comparison with a factory overclocked 7900XT and a base clocked 9070XT, there would be about a 20% performance difference stock for stock. I went from a Powecolor 7900XT reference model to a Powercolor Red Devil Limited Edition 9070XT OC and there has been good gains across all the games I play. Especially UE5 games. I am happy with the upgrade. I could have bought a cheaper 9070XT but i wanted to leave the cheaper ones for people that wanted them or could only afford them on launch day. I can also sell my 7900XT to make back most of the money i spent on the 9070XT. The performance increase and FSR4 were worth it for me.

Got the 7900XT in Jan for 659 + tax, great thermals compared 6000 series, so far happy with it, price seems like a miracle atm

Would you be able to do a 3080 10G comparison next? I think that's an Nvidia card that would be about due for an upgrade for a lot of people, and could do with a 9070XT comparison over more than native settings. The 10 GB Vram is really starting to hinder the card and the RT is also not good enough to justify it turned on on that card, so would make a great "logical upgrade path" comparison for those who don't want or can get a worth-while Nvidia card.

Newegg just dropped the Sapphire 7900XT reference for $650 today. I had been looking for a GPU forever, and finally found the right price. Not paying $1000 plus for the 9070xt.

I bought 2 XFX 7900xts for $700 each in 2023. And bought a Mercury OC 9070xt for $825 on launch Day. Im not disappointed at all. Can't wait to buy a UDNA card when they launch. 😊 Would love to see a UDNA 90xt card.
