Whether you should use a muted or bright color depends on your skin vibrancy ( how bright or muted your skin is). If you have a bright skin vibrancy, choose the bright color. If you have a muted skin vibrancy, choose the muted color. If you have a more balanced skin vibrancy like Monica, you can pull off both muted and bright colors well. I have a fair skin tone but a very bright skin vibrancy. So while both shade would show up on my skin, the brighter blush would look better on me because it matches my skin vibrancy.

I found muted blush easier to work with than pigmented ones. I have olive undertone and even a single dot of pigmented blush makes me look either bruised or sunburned.

I personally think the muted one looks better on more people. But it's great to have options especially for deep skin. Obviously it's super important to have options for everyone.

Honestly I think the more pigmented one looks nicer, tone wise. I wouldn't have put that big a swipe on, but I'd still have it pretty intense. A little bb cream on top to blend out the center on the face and oh my gosh. It's my absolute favourite. Granted, I love orange blush so muted definitely doesn't work for me. Muted blushes, especially pinks, always pull greyish on me, I think it's my colouring.

I think bright blushes are great and I mute them by mixing with foundation or concealer.
But I understand people don’t wanna mix!
