The fact that it goes back to the base to clean its mop pads is better than using a water tank in the robot, as they will always be clean like someone would do with their mop. Having a water tank to dispense the water means it will keep accumulating dirty water into the pads and spreading it everywhere.

That’s very odd that it cannot lift the mop pad automatically on the carpet, the X10+ which is the older model and runs on the same firmware does this.
Are you sure it was just not on the first run? Also did you set in the settings to lift on carpets? There’s a dedicated setting for that, it’s under “Carpet Cleaning Method”
