750Kg VW Golf GTi Mk1 || Full Onboard - Retro Rides Gathering

Among the machines we captured on Retro Rides Gathering 2018, was this very interesting VW Golf Mk1 owned, built and driven by Chris Priddle that had just arrived from the Nurburgring Nordschleife, while posting a very respectable 8:20 lap (with traffic) on its second try.

Of course that peaked our interest, so here you can see more about it and how Mr. Priddle drives this 1.8L Naturally Aspirated Pocket Rocket that while only producing 155Hp, benefits from its low weight of around 750Kg to become a rather quick and agile thing.

But we will let you be the judge...

Hi mate, I have seen that you have side skirts fitted on the car now, is your berg cup kit supplied by NTS from Blackpool, looks exactly the same as mine except you have pull out you front wings . Would it be possible to know where you had your skirts made ?

I’m sure his “unique” tattoos add extra weight, thereby slowing down his time. Could have been a little bit more aggressive in that first turn whence he hesitated to upshift as both hands were tightly gripping the steering wheel.
