Sheriff defends Netflix show 'Unlocked: A Jail Experiment'

It's been a month since Unlocked: A Jail Experiment premiered. Since then, county and state officials have expressed backlash.

"I was disappointed in that," Higgins said. "With hope that we focus on the positive side of what we're doing and how it truly transforms our facility."

In response, Higgins held a press conference to address any questions.

I commend Sheriff Higgins for his approach on this experiment. He is a modern day trailblazer for sure!! Any politicians bitching saying that this isn’t a good look for the county when it comes to people who have never seen this part of Arkansas until this Netflix series is political grandstanding. Congratulations Sheriff Higgins for showing America that this approach can and does work when implemented correctly!!

They’re only upset because either they didn’t even bother to watch the full series OR (most likely) it’s success means lower recidivism rates, which means less money for those who get paid when ppl are locked up.
