I think he was referring to the A7RIV because it is a A7 series camera.

A74 sounds right because the A7S3 and FX6 covers the higher end, unless it's yet another compact A6400 update

I'm hoping for the A7IV, however I think it could be an A9III ( since there was a significant difference from the A7II to the A7III, they might replicate that in upgrading from the A9II to the A9III).

I sure hope it's the A7IV, if it is sub 2500.00 that would fit my price range. I only shoot in 1080 but i would like a camera with better 1080 quality over my canon 80d. Its either going to be sony or cannon in my mirrorless future.

I think Matt just misspoke and said A7 IV instead of A7R IV. This was the last of a series of videos about why he went back to Nikon instead of Canon, Fuji medium format, or Sony (in that order). I'm pretty sure he did all the videos several days ago and it just slipped by him in editing. Matt's not the kind of guy who just drops hints. He says what he means. Also, he's now in Hong Kong, which is 13 hours ahead of us in EST. So, he likely loaded the video, scheduled its release, and went to bed. In a few hours he'll wake up, read the comments, go 🤦🏼‍♂️ and by then Sony's announcement will be out anyway.

Also noted the slip of the tongue. The only reason I could see Matt Granger having that kind of knowledge is if Sony had been courting him (with wondrous new tech & better ergonomics & colour science) to be an ambassador, during his "what will be my new system" phase. However, he's a long standing youtuber with a good reputation and maybe he does have contacts that have told him something. Yet I believe was just a slip of the tongue. There has been so much talk about an A7 iv for the past year that it is the first sony camera stills shooters think of when the alpha line up is mentioned and that seems the most plausible explanation at this time.

Looks like Tony Northrup might have just broken on the leak on what Sony will reveal tomorrow. He seems to think it is the "curved sensor". If is true, that will be quite ground-breaking.

Don't think Granger is part of Sony's artisans of imagery, so I doubt he would be in a place to get a hold of a preproduction unit for testing, or be made aware of upcoming camera specs. unless he has a friend who is, that told him in

As much as I'd love it to be the A7iv tomorrow, I'm dubious that it will be.
