Cinnamon and Gunpowder sounds like a lot of fun.

The Doomsday Book is so excellent! It had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. Can't wait to hear your thoughts!

I read Jekyll and Hyde last year and had the same thoughts. I was expecting something different considering what has been done to the story in other formats but I was impressed and want to read more of Stevenson.

I agree about the strangeness of reading books whose story you already know. Frankenstein was one major one for me, because modern culture has appropriated the story and put its own spin on it so seeing it with a different atmospheric/philosophical spin was very strange. But good. Eye-opening, I suppose. Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde was similar for me. Cinnamon and Gunpowder totally does sound awesome. :D And eventually I need to read some Dorothy Sayers...

I had never heard of Cinnamon and Gunpowder before, but now I'm intrigued! Also, I totally didn't realize that The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and Treasure Island were written by the same author. Possibly because I have never read either. Oops.
