The 2024 KTM 300SX two-stroke was an all-new bike last year, with a ground breaking throttle body fuel-injection system, electric start, electronic power valve, dual map options, all-new chassis, WP XACT air forks, and more. For a motocross-specific two-stroke, this bike has an ultra-smooth power character that makes it easy to lug in the corners, and has tons of power in the mid and high rpm range, pulling up to 55 horsepower. In this video, MXA test rider Connor Styers shakes down the bike and Josh Mosiman shares all the details we know about this bike after spending a year on the 2023 version.

IMO, if the AMA was serious about growing the sport they would allow 150 2t in 250 class, and 300 2t in the 450 class.

Josh is solid. Well spoken, goes fast, always fun to watch and listen to. And i guess one have to thank KTM for still evolving two strokes.

I think they should bump up the displacement rules so 150s and 300s should be allowed to race with their 4 stroke counterparts.

this machine needs to be eligible for competition in 450 pro nationals. the established displacement rules are a sham to "force" riders onto 4-strokes. Just allow it and see how it sells. eh?

I love the power delivery, sound, and smell of 2-strokes--especially with Klotz premix. I'm glad KTM is keeping up 2-stroke development. I'll give the 300sx a serious look.

Thank you Josh. I really appreciate your videos and the magazine. I don't even ride dirt bikes. My son is 4 and rides 3 days a week on his PW50. He loves pouring over the magazine. I like to watch the videos and see where the front line is.

It may be down 5 HP from the 450cc 4t, but it has more power/weight ratio, and much less engine parts/rotational mass/momentum - so that equals the bike being easier on your body to ride and manuever. This bike honestly felt amazing when I sat on it at the dealership - like an old boot or glove!

However, I own a TM Racing 300cc 2t and Honda 450cc 4t, and enjoy the 4 stroke more! lol But boy, does it wear you out much quicker...the 300cc 2t feels like a magic carpet compared to the 450cc tractor after riding back to back! lol -And that's with a completely built/tuned engine, clutch, A kit suspension, GET ECU etc. on the Honda...and I TRIED to make it easier to ride for longer periods of time, but it just has too much rotational mass and torque inside the engine no matter what is altered...but the fun factor is there on both! 💪 Get out and RIDE! Praise you, JESUS! 🙌

That O'Neal/Gaerne combo looks super sharp!

It would be interresting to see a compairason of the SX300 to the XC 300 since the XC has the duel cartridge forks.

I just realized...those traffic cone MXA helmets finally look good in that they match the color scheme of the KTMs. Josh looks pretty slick with the O'neal color scheme. 😄

I have a 1992 KTM MX300. They did make them back in the day 😊

That's alot of 2-stroke MX bike for even a Vet guy like myself. The 250cc KTM & Yamaha are plenty powerful & ya can race in local or national events. It's sweet but I'd prob go for a new '24 KTM 250SX or '24 Yamaha YZ250. 💯

How about this, If your a privateer and not in the top 20 you should be able to run one of these? Make the AMA/FIM could try it out for a year or two.

What is better for a 2-strroke? Electronic-fuel-injection or Direct-injection?

In Europe there are many problems with the new-gen 2 strokes, do they hold up good in u.s ?

I've had 5 kids ask me about the rev limiter at the track since you posted this

piedawg

is the rev limiter necessary on this bike? I mean does the FI or mapping or something make it necessary vs. (e.g.) the YZ 250?
