My piranha jumped out of the water

Too many in that tank. Need more space for them. They’re gonna grow out bigger and more will start to jump out if they feel like they need more space

Regardless if you’ve had no issues with them jumping for 5 years, this is always the risk of a lidless tank. Please consider putting a lid. I can’t imagine the last painful moments of the fish suffocating to their death. Take this as a hard lesson

Beautiful beautiful tank bro... Piranhas are why I got into the aquarium hobby... I have pretty much only kept them for the better part of 25 years... What I have realized with them is obviously they are a schooling/shoaling fish but the older they get in captivity I personally believe they need even more space because they swim much more faster and more powerful burst when startled even being startled by each other's movements. They are true swimmers in the wild and I would treat their space needs with 3-4x the recommended amount... No more than 3_4 for every 125-150 gallons.. it will really help with the random darts and dashes you encounter with them... But for the most part you're right on par with everything from space to decor... They are well taken care of and blemish free... Great job 👍

I used to keep a salt water 55 gallon tank. Some fish just take it up on themselves to do this. I had a lid on that tank, but you'd hear the thump. My fish....dealer....had a full sized electric eel climb out of a tank and he was found in the same condition as your fish. Sometimes, like people, they just do crazy things.

You may want to add more cover, some top floaters maybe like amazon frogbit? Tank size will always be a community argument but 200g is more than enough. Likely got spooked or chased a light flash out of the water

They got to big for the tank. You have to get a bigger one (which might be hard and you also have a place for it) and ad more, ,enrichment" for them like plants, logs, rocks etc

You need a heavy lid to cover the top of the tank. Mine regularly jumps. The lid stops them every time.

Of COURSE piranha need a cover on their aquarium. You had to be aware of that. I had Clarias catfish who jumped frequently.
