In the Avatar comics, after Azula joins Team Avatar in their next adventure, she rudely calls Appa a shaggy beast, which he clearly does not appreciate but Aang calms him down
Zuko makes it clear that at least one of them will have to keep an eye on Azula at all times and Sokka volunteers to take the first watch, after Azula had previously insulted his trusty boomerang
He orders Azula to get ready to leave and she gives him a little zap in response before instantly being restrained by both Katara and Aang as Zuko reminds his sister once again that the terms of their deal that allow her to come along include her staying calm
Traumatized, Sokka asks if someone else can take the first watch on Azula and they depart on Appa’s back
In Zuko’s place, Iroh temporarily take the throne and the first thing he does is grab the spear from the fire nation guard and replace it with a cup of tea announcing that with his first act as the interim fire lord, they will have a national tea appreciation day
Cutting to Team Avatar, Aang and Katara waste no time with the PDA before Azula starts to get a little crazy muttering about them being convinced to ruin her life before Zuko calms her down and the adventure continues

The world is divided into four nations -- the Water Tribe, the Earth Kingdom, the Fire Nation and the Air Nomads -- each represented by a natural element for which the nation is named. Benders have the ability to control and manipulate the element from their nation. Only the Avatar is the master of all four elements. The ruthless Fire Nation wants to conquer the world but the only bender who has enough power, the Avatar, has disappeared ... until now. His tribe soon discovers that Aang is the long-lost Avatar. Now Katara and Sokka must safeguard Aang on his journey to master all four elements and save the world from the Fire Nation.

This is why I actually like Azula. Everyone thinks she's just a cartoonishly evil bad guy, and she was made that way by her dad. But she's actually completely psychotic. Then, when she finally starts getting some closer, to put her mind at ease. She end up developing a downright awful case of sprite Schizophrenia, completely peeling away her sense of reality and self.

Personally, I think Azula should have lost her lightning bending as she had lost her stability and inner balance. Yes, in the last Agni Kia, her bending makes sense, she has a single goal in mind, keep the throne. However, after this, she just losses herself until later. With that being said, I think she should have lost her lightning bending, not become more proficient with it. Ozi was the most skilled with the ability, and even he couldn't simply make finger pistols and zap someone.
