I was diagnosed with Type 2 when I was obese. I lost 60 lbs and my A1C's improved but began to rise again. Still a little overweight but good exercise & diet & fast over 40 hours a couple of times/week. I had mercury fillings removed and 2 root canals. 1 of the root canals was botched and gutta percha was embedded in my maxillary sinus. Removing the root canal ripped a hole in my sinus and infected all my sinuses. It has taken 3 years to resolve that condition and I believe that infection has led to LADA. C-peptide is in normal range but ANA screen is positive and titer is elevated - 1.80. Just had my blood drawn for GAD-65 today. Can Streptococcus Aureus couse this Immune disease ? I was having in my nose that bacteria.. and was taking antibiotics.. but i haven't rerun test to see if they're gone and ..after a few months like 8 months after this i was diagnosed with type 1.5 LADA ..

I have been diagnosed with lada, I came back with IA2 antibodies and lower c peptide levels. Went into hospital with a blood sugar level of 20 mmol/l and ketones of 5.1 mmol/l.

I’ve been diagnosed with LADA but I do have some belly fat, waist is 31inch and I’m 155cm (5”1) and I weight 53.8kg. I’ve not eaten so healthily most of my life and haven’t been exercising much, it’s been here and there. I’m not sure why I am diagnosed with 1.5 as I thought I’d be type 2. What should I do? I’m worried if doctors give me insulin then I’ll gain weight.

How do you persuade your doctor to test for autoimmune type 1 diabetes when your fasting glucose and A1C are normal and that is all they are willing to look at?
