All these politicians of today and past across BJP, Congress, JD etc are all to blame for the illegal constructions, illegal cutting of trees, WORST is illegal constructions on Lake beds and these political spokesperson are such SHAMELESS characters! It is time to teach all these politicians a lesson by common man. It is a shame for all us Kannadigas that these local politicians don't have any pride in Namma Bengaluru or Karnataka...

Urban infrastructure development should be taken out of local authorities. They are corrupt and inefficient.

Sirs,

We are seeing huge demolitions due to illegal constructions and ecological damage. But here in Bangalore, pls think of construction of large inderground tunnels that can take the excess water to destination.

Who did it is secondary. But Modi instead of wasting huge money of Rs. 20, 000 crores in beautification of his office in his central vista project ("kartvya path" ! ) should give money to solve these problems. By the way I am not a congress supporter.

There is no more excuse for any govt to shy awway from taking responsibility. I don't think what we see tody would be any different if Congress were in power at the state. So, I don't think the problem is BJP. It is our culture of corruption and nepotism is why we are seeing such disasters. Every state govt works with unethical and corrupt business people and give them go ahead to build houses in places where it should not have been allowed. We have a serious cultural problem. How do we fix our culture?

These all flooded areas are not Bengaluru. Old Bengaluru is still heaven which was built by Mysore Raja and kempegowda.
These flooded areas made by bloody idiotic officers and corrupt politicians by acquiring lakes. Most of peole staying this place never vote and don't have voting right also in Bangalore. So no one bother here.
You national media don't show simply bullshit instead think something to save or donate for needy here.

I guess if you compare with entire area of Bangalore and population, it's only 5 areas which is badly hit, which is closer to varthur and belandur lake! When people started staying in this area, no one knew this would be the power of water, because these kind of things happens once in a century where rivers overflow. The areas which you are speaking never had population in late 90's as well, the layouts were build by the land lords not by BDA or BBMP, it was sold as revenue sites! Blaming anyone for this of no use. It's just a natural calamity.
