Iron Maiden - Brave New World (Remastered 2020)

I do not intend on making a revenue off of this and the band can take it down whenever they want. So if it's gone, it's gone!

Please, wear minimally good headphones or listen back on studio monitors. Phone and laptop speakers are not a good reference to listen to, since they don't sound good at all.

This is a remastered version of "Brave New World" done in April 2020 (not an official release). The current volume levels of this video are on the left. This was based on the July 2019 remastered version that I already posted last month. I made a few tweaks in the low mid range to remove the frequencies that made it sound hollow.

On May 29th 2000, Brave New World was released. It's an appropriate time to release this version, since it's been 20 years already. Feels like it was yesterday.

This is the title track from my own remaster of Iron Maiden's Brave New World album. I managed to bring the RMS value (average decibel value) down to 3-4 dB and the DR (dynamic range) down 2-3 dB by equing severely the track, since it was clipping all over. The video shows both the original and remastered version volume levels to compare them at the same time stamp. Go listen to the original and you'll understand even more what it sounds like when it clips like this.

Secondly: BNW still is the best album from Bruce's 2nd era with Iron Maiden. Even (much) better than Senjutsu. 😅

Stumbled on this randomly and wow! I've been an IM fan for a long time and I consider myself pretty familiar with all of their music and the fact that a lad on YouTube can make the title track of BNW sound that good is both inspiring and saddening... Every Maiden album after the late Mr.Birch's unique treatment has suffered from somewhat poor sound engineering, which is a damn shame. I really don't understand why IM, who have tried to set their own pace and rules over the time have resorted to falling into the "Loudness War" (I've checked it since you referenced it somewhere in the comments). Why? I don't get it.. I truly don't.. Some tracks on BNW like "Out of the Silent Planet" and even the title track have distortion and clipping... Such a shame.

BNW has much soul within it and especially the title track.. For the first time I was able to hear that crisp chant of the rhythm guitar on the left in the chorus and it's.. Pure, pure magic.. Details like that enthrall you into that track.. Into the atmosphere and make it live and breathe. You've done amazing work mate! Thank you!
