Thomas Alexander: Now the Germans debunk the Qur'an!

On Pfanderfilms, we have introduced Mel from Ireland, Murad from the Middle East, Robert from the USA, Joe from Israel, Paul from England, and Odon from France, each representing different schools of thought on the Historical Critique concerning the origins of Islam.

Now we turn to the German school, specifically a group of mostly German scholars known as the 'Inarah' School (which means 'enlightenment' in Arabic). They have spent an enormous amount of quality time researching and debunking the Qur'an, an area we haven't looked at recently.

But the problem for me any others on YouTube is that we don't speak German, so we haven't really known or heard the arguments from this German school; that is until Thomas Alexander, a member of this group, who not only is German himself, but speaks English fluently, volunteered to come on to Pfanderfilms and help unpack their exciting research for us.

This is the first of what I hope will be a whole series of episodes by the Thomas helping us understand what the Germans have found concerning the very real historical problems with Islam's holy book, the Qur'an.

There are many other books from Inârah that have been translated into English. In particular :
"Early Islam, a critical reconstruction based on contemporary sources" edited by Karl-Heinz Ohlig, Promotheus Books, 2013 (2007 for the German edition)
"The Syro-aramaic reading of the Koran" Christoph Luxenberg, Promotheus Books, 2009 (2000 for the German edition)
Have a look at the Inârah website, there are dozens of volumes and even more articles. There are also the many volumes "Die entstehung einer Weltreligion" which compile the articles of the scholars who contributed to the Inârah conferences. Approximately a 1/3 of those articles are written in English.

We all suspected that there were at least 2 authors of the Qur'an. Now, we find that there were at least 3 authors or even schools of writers to the Qur'an.
