For many Canadians, a trip south of the border is routine. However, if you’re not a Canadian citizen, traveling south can be much more difficult. Many must first obtain a visa before heading stateside. As Sohrab Sandhu finds out, getting a visa can be a long and difficult process.

What’s really frustrating is American green card holders can visit Canada visa free. I say we reciprocate and require visas from us green card holders as well!

So, what you're saying is that it could eventually be faster for a PR to get Canadian citizenship and then go over visa free...

CBC’s more recent news story swaps the term “non-citizens” for “Canadian residents” to try and suggest this a problem for Canadians. Canadians don’t need a Visa to travel to the U.S. These individuals with this Visa problem are NOT fellow Canadians. They are foreign nationals living who have come from countries the U.S. does not trust and are living in Canada. This is not actually a Canadian problem and the government should spend none of my hard earned tax dollars money to improve it. Just because you get on a plane from some dangerous third world country and decide to live in my country does not change who you are or where you are from in the eyes of U.S. border laws.
