Whoever was driving that short course truck on the track from 10:31 to 12:34 was very good!

I miss the hobby, I was fortunate enough to grow up in queens nyc in the 90s. We had an awesome indoor off road track. They even had a bobcat to switch things up every couple months, had the best 14 years of my life and kept me out of trouble. Made me really focused into rc for a decade and a half. Life and now finances prevent me from enjoying the hobby. Videos like this help me cope w my FOMO

Great video! 4WD SCT is one of my favorite classes to run. Down in south Florida all the tracks have a dedicated class for them. I do wish we had more tracks that ran 2wd stadium truck.

I loved running Stadium Truck back in the day. Stock and Mod Stadium Truck usually had more drivers than Stock and Mod buggy.

4WD SCT is actually quite popular here at my home track in Texas. Weekly club races typically have roughly half a dozen 4WD short courses, and they're pretty competitive. They occasionally bring out a few 2WDs but they're far less popular and usually get lumped in with the RWYB, Future Champs, and Spec Slashes unless someone throws down a call-out on them.

Conversely, we don't run 10th Stadium Truck at all. One shows up from time to time, but everything else is 8th buggy and truggy.

I feel lucky to have been racing during the heyday of stadium trucks in the mid-late 90’s. Outdoor, loose dirt, mod-truck & mod-buggy days were awesome. Think my favorite pairing to race was my RC10 Worlds buggy & the best truck ever, the RC10T2.

Really interesting video. The more I use RC the more I gravitate towards scale looks and performance. Rubbing makes racing a lot more fun.

to bad the oldscool body's from the stadium trucks aren't used anymore. That look is what got me in to RC cars as a kid.
Jconcepts made some at a later stage? would be awesome to fit one on a T6

The big bear was the first RC car that I ever saw run besides something you would buy in a toy store. The year was 1987. By 1988 I was able to get my hands on a big bear kit and begin racing it at the local 4H fair grounds indoor carpet. I used an Airtronics stick radio, 7.2 V NiCad battery, a Leisure quick charger and a Trinity monster stock motor. I also was able to get a Novak speed control, full ball bearing set, Lexan body, and one other item that the big bear needed which was a case saver. It was a metal part that prevented the gear case from flexing and stripping out the gears. It was tremendous fun and I still love truck racing today.

Ah the Big Bear class, haven't thought about that in a while. Once our track started allowing the Blackfoot to race the Big Bear class it was all over for the Big Bear lol Granted, once JG and Pro-Line (and maybe A&L) came out with their truck conversions for the RC10 and then the JRX2 they dominated the truck classes until the JRXT and RC10T were released. I actually have a JRX2 with the JG monster truck conversion, huge body post mounts and big knobby tires...good times!

I raced an Losi SCT 2.0 with TEKNO outdrives and bones. Loved racing that truck and yes it sucked outdoors in the wind. But, man I could chase down some dudes. Just never had an indoor track big enough where I live to really stretch its legs.

A couple aspects of SCT that I like, the longer wheelbase kinda gives you a bit more time to react when the rear end breaks loose, so more power sliding and drifting, and sometimes a bit less looping out. The SCT bodies definitely give lots of area for paint, more to see, and look great with scale race liveries... mine is done up with City Chevrolet stickers...
I still love my 2wd mod trucks though, and will always try to have a stadium truck at the ready, as well as an SCT... I also like being able to run my 2wd nitro trucks, which has opened a can of worms as far as Nitro goes...

always wanted to race. Was kinda a shock to see how few stadium trucks there are now. remember the late 90s early 00s there were just as many as buggy
