This is the final week of Arriva London running London bus route 99. On Saturday the 18th of January, route 99 will be run by GoAhead, London Central.
Route 99 will run from Bexleyheath (BX) garage. The route will use ADL Enviro400s and Wright Gemini 2s. These have been transferred from various garages across London. Brand new Wright StreetDeck Electroliners have been ordered for route 99. These will replace the diesel buses in the future.
Route 99 runs from Woolwich High Street, To Bexleyheath, Shopping Centre. The route runs via Woolwich Arsenal Station, Woolwich Station, Plumstead Bus Garage, Plumstead High Street, Plumstead Station, Plumstead Police Station, Church Manorway, Bostall Hill, New Road, The Eardley Arms, Nuxley Road, Trinity Road, Alford Road, Europa Trading Estate, Erith Station, Erith Riverside, Erith Town Centre, James Watt Way, Bilton Road, Hazel Road, Slade Green Station, Bridge Road, Slade Green Station, Thames Road, Parkside Cross, Barnehurst Station, Mayplace Road East and Tower Road.
In Bexleyheath, Erith and Woolwich, buses serve different roads depending on the direction of travel. Route 99 serves Slade Green Station twice.
Route 99 runs daily, every 10 to 15 minutes. The route runs from 04:55 until 01:31. Route 99 is 10 miles (16 km) long. It has a peak vehicle requirement of 14 buses. A full journey on route 99 takes 45 to 70 minutes.
Route 99 currently runs from Dartford (DT) garage. The route is allocated Wright Gemini 2s. However, ADL Enviro400s regularly run on the route.

National Rail (Southeastern) at Erith,
National Rail (Southeastern) at Slade Green,
National Rail (Thameslink) at Slade Green,
And National Rail (Southeastern) at Barnehurst.
Route 99 also connects to the Superloop route SL3 in Bexleyheath,
Previous operators of route 99 include Bexleybus (1988 - 1991), London Central (1991 - 1999), Stagecoach (1999 - 2018). Route 99 passed to Arriva on the 20th of January 2018. The route originally ran from Dartford (DT) garage. In July 2019, the allocation was transferred to Manor Road (MR) garage. In 2021, Manor Road (MR) was closed, and the allocation transferred back to Dartford (DT).
Routes 269 and 401 will also pass to GoAhead on Saturday the 18th. These two routes are also run by Arriva. New Wright StreetDeck Electroliners have been ordered for the 269 and 401. These have been delayed, meaning ADL Enviro400s and Wright Gemini 2s will be used.
The ADL Enviro400s that will be used on routes 99, 269 and 401 have already transferred to Bexleyheath. Some of these are ADL Enviro400 Tridents. They were previously allocated to route 101 at River Road (RR). They have also been used at Camberwell (Q) and Merton (AL) garages. Some ADL Enviro400s have also transferred from routes 104 and 320.
