I felt really upset that the 347 will be withdrawn due to low usage. But if passengers are going from Romford to Upminster and Ockendon. They can use existing routes 248, 346, 370 and non TfL route 269.

The same journey yesterday was somewhat busier ! - I counted 66 people using the 1600 journey (but others reckoned even higher), even so about a dozen got left behind.

I live on the ‘old’ 347 route and it had totally outlived its usefulness.

It was rarely patronised, four services a day didn’t help, but people wanting to travel between Romford and Upminster would get a train or buses 248 and 370 - there may be others.

Not sure how long ago but a new service was introduced - 346 - which covers a broader area and still retains the back route from Harold Wood to Upminster and from what I’ve seen, it’s definitely a case of ‘create the service and they will come.’

I’m sure if there’s enough demand for travel between Upminster and Ockendon then the 346 route would be extended, which also serves Tesco Xpress at Gallows Corner with the 498 route from Romford to Brentwood stopping across the way.

I actually saw the last ever service on the 347. I wasn't there tho, It was a Discord call with Jack Baldwin. When I saw the 347 on his phone line, it was just like the 549! Idk if the SL4 might be like this, but I bet it might be chaos. But anyways, R.I.P Route 347 🪦:( Cool video btw 👍👍👍😉

Awesome video Riku, shame they are scrapping bus routes. Some of the points they made in that meeting are true as the main roads can easy get clogged up.

Such a shame that the 347 bus route isn’t going to be in service any more. And yes apparently c2c are to refurbish the 74 Class 357 Electrostar trains with new c2c livery. But still so sad to see the end of the 347 route. Farewell 347 route. 😢

Interesting to see the Wanstead meeting, although shame the major cuts to the W12 were not highlighted, ie complete withdrawal from Walthamstow Village and a reduction from every 15 mins to 30 mins in the new W14 (and not even really serving Wanstead properly) for those in the housing area east of Wanstead.

Getting like the Deregulated Services outside London. If it dosent turn a profit its a goner.
In the old LT Daus when there was Central and contry areas. It was more about public service. With more profitable routes helping to fund orhers
