There are three distinctive areas of philosophy, each with its own tools and aims;
a) Truth Wisdom is about finding the most universal answers to the most universally important questions (basically metaphysics). An answer is a framework of understanding
b) Practical Wisdom is about finding custom solutions to individual problems. A solution is an action plan.
c) Academic Philosophy is about organising people, history, and jargon, and only credentials are required.

Too much superational poetry, not really tackling the main question in a simple statement. I think if you cannot state in one simple proposition what philosophy is, then you don't know what it is.

Do I need to understand philosophy to be able to do philosophy correctly? Or can I just use my beliefs, for it is philosophy and no one can say else. I'm gonna teach everyone that we live on a flat earth and it will flourish with us feminists.

Philosophy is the wisdom of God. Psalms 14 The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. Philosophy is the beauty of God's creation. There is evil and good in this world. It is either God is controlling your thoughts or Satan is controlling your thoughts. Philippians 2:5 KJV: Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself. When we feel feelings of jealousy. That means that we lack wisdom on who we are to God. James 1:5-8 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. God's wisdom will make you understand Philosophy.
