To get rid of bugs and aphids, blend a couple of onions in a couple of cups of water, strain it into a sprayer bottle, add a couple of drops of dish soap, spray all your plant leaves. This is the most effective organic way to protect your plants.

I do the same. Pruning the bottom is called skirting, and its really helpful. In addition to avoiding the foliage/fruits touching the soil, its also removing foliage that wont get much light. That way it can focus its energy on the top canopy. I do pluck flowers at the begining of thw season as well to help the plant grow strong for more yields. Seems counter intuitive for some, but I swear by it. Happy growing bro, hope you get some nice yields.

I would add to Make sure you are not cutting those lower leaves when there is a call for rain in the future and don't water until the next day. Need the wound to recover to help prevent disease. I have anthracnose in my soil and removing the lower leaves really helps.

Don't let that one aphids trick you, it only needs a day to take over your plant.

Just a word of advice: Depending on your Hardiness Zone, length of your growing season... and if you're growing Superhots(Ghost pepper and higher rated Scovilles), don't remove early flowers. These peppers will need atleast 110+ days from transplant to final ripening.

The cutting I'm still learning.... But if you're growing peppers.... The size of the type of peppers as well as the size of container determines whether or jot to vut the flowers right?!
