You could cover the cork-board in a really beautiful solid fabric and continue to use it as a design ideas pin board or framed art collage area. Even a patterned fabric would be great for that. Anyhoo, just thinking!😊❤

I guess it is a matter of preference, but the bannister looks upside down to me. Other than that, knocking out that wall and putting in a bannister was a no brainer...it makes you wonder why anyone ever built that wall. I could not have worked so close to that open stairwell. It made me nervous just watching. Looking forward to seeing more of this reno and congratulations on expanding your work space.
