Excellent video. We were fortunate enough to retire early at 37/35 and have been enjoying travel for the past couple of years with our two young kids. The one big surprise for us was how much of a struggle it was to get used to not ‘working’ and still feeling the ‘need’ to work and make money. We are now trying to figure out ways to make other peoples lives better.

I just want to say that finding your channel has changed my life. I found you guys around November last year. Since then, I have left the US and am currently getting a master’s degree in Barcelona, Spain. I also took your investment class and am investing in Index Funds to start my FIRE journey. I plan on visiting Portugal by the end of this year to check out the opportunities and lifestyle there. Would love to stay in your beautiful AirBB and meet you guys in person. Sending you love and best wishes! Respect! ✊🙏💪❤️

I recently started to think about retirement and stumbled to your videos, I'm currently 37yrs. I have a 401k and savings accounts that I been adding since I started working at the age of 19. I decided today to open a Roth IRA account and to start investing in indux funds. My goal is to maximize my contribution of 6k every year on the Roth. I hope I can be a testament to all my young people that are reading this and maybe one day I can share my success and be able to retire early.

I grew up in a household where both parents retired pretty early (54 and 57). the house was always a little colder than I liked in the winter, we ate a lot of soup, beans, and rice, and I wasn't allowed to do a sport I wanted to do. I understood why when they retired first out of all their friends and family.

What a smart and forward thinking video. It’s not just getting there. But about how to survive and thrive when you get there.

Being able to retire 10, 20, or even 30 years before the government says you can is worth the risk you take when you invest or try something new to get you there.

Could you guys make a video on how you are withdrawing money from your investing accounts and how to deal with taxes. I would like to know which account to pull money first. Thank you!

Great insights again. Living with intention is key for me. I really resonate with the Paula Pant saying "you can afford anything but not everything." It really helped me to be more intentional with my spending.

Oh my gosh…I’m so happy I joined this journey🙌🏽. This is such an eye opening video & I thank you Amon & Christina for sharing 🙌🏽👍🏽. I am enjoying watching the family explore London over on your IG 🤗. Perfect example of how you both enjoy yourselves during early retirement. Again THANK YOU for sharing ❤️❤️.

Question: knowing what you know now, what would you have done more of / differently in your thirties to reach your FIRE goal? I don’t mean not buying the bmw or whatever - would you have invested differently or side-huddled differently?

Thank you for sharing these important points. I plan to retire in 3 years so I'm grateful for this information to help me prepare. Will be sharing this video with others on this journey.

1. Yes! I had this same problem with getting a mortgage. I also ended up using cash for my house!

2. Absolutely! I will not withdraw my usual amount when I see large drops in the stock market, just common sense! Even if the 4% rule historically has worked out, I mentally couldn't continue spending the same amount in a large drop. I like the "95% rule" from Bob Clyatt.

3. I would recommend everyone in the FIRE community try reading the book "Die With Zero" to get a good counter argument to our mindset, some good stuff in there (I don't agree completely with the book, but some things changed my mind.

4. I definitely still seek to make some income in early retirement, it's fun!

5. Heck yeah! No one can tell how much wealth I have based on my house, car, and most certainly my clothes! Lol

6. Never worry about the "retirement police" do what you want to do, that's the point! Not just never earning money again!!!

I retired last year at 38 years old. I am only using 3.5% from my portfolio, because I wanted it to last more than 50 years with a 99% rate success.

Great information as always. We are also teaching our daughter to be fiscally responsible and we have set up a trust where all our investments and indexed Universal Life policies pay to so she will be able to draw from it as long as she reaches specific learning and putting into practice goals so her children can repeat it all without hopefully becoming entitled. Have you all thought about setting up a trust fund? If you do do tons of research.

Thanks again love your content and your courses.
