The art is crazy and it's a quick read but yeah the true villain is clearly the lack of any context, after one read i really didn't get anything

Most of Nihei's themes are about transhumanism and the fleeting frailty of humanity. Like its necessary to for humans to transcend our limitations to survive as a species. CsM borrows from that, Abara's premise, and associating w/ and even becoming monsters ourselves being necessary for said continuation of surival.
