Cowboy butter is always a hit in my house, but I’ve only ever used it on steak! I tried working it into a smash burger, and it was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had! Juicy, flavorful, and so easy to make!

If you want to impress the family and friends with a fun take on a smash burger, try this!!

Butter:

1 stick of @kerrygoldusa butter, softened
2-3 cloves of garlic, minced
1/2 tsp salt and pepper
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp cayenne
1 tsp lemon zest
1 tsp chives, diced
1 tsp parsley, chopped
1 tsp thyme, chopped

Combine everything together in a bowl, mix well, and once all the ingredients are spread evenly throughout, lets set it aside and make the burgers!

Preheat your griddle to high heat.

Weigh out your ground beef in to 3-4oz chunks and form into balls.

Head out to the griddle and place each ball down on the griddle with enough space to smash them down. Use parchment paper to avoid it sticking and use a burger press or spatulas to press them flat into the griddle. Use a good amount of force, you want the beef to stick to the griddle and caramelize!

Once they are about 90% of the way cooked, flip them and add some cheese to the top. Keep in mind that the beef will likely stick, you want that! Just carefully unlodge it from the skillet!

While the cheese melts, toast your buns and the. We can build the burger!

I love grilled onions with my smash burgers, so I start with a generous amount of those on the bottom bun. Then place down 2 of the burger patties with cheese. Grab the top bun and spread a generous amount of the cowboy butter on top and place the bun down.

It will immediately start to melt and baste over the burger, and the flavor it brings is absolutely amazing!
