We can try this experiment at home if you have infinite bunkers, gunpowder, and cats.

This experiment was originally a critique of this interpretation of quantum mechanics. Schrödinger wanted to show us how insane it is for something as large as a cat to be in two states at once.

There’s something so hilariously selfish about humans thinking that nature waits for them to decide what to do.

"We just dont know if the cat is dead of alive"
*BOOM*
"Simply no clue until we open the box"

So basically...Schrodinger believed life was a simulation and that there was loading zones.

I think what most people don't realize is that the point of the thought experiment is that it's wrong. A cat obviously can't be dead and alive at the same time, it's a paradox.

If the cat knew that it may explode and lives, imagine how pissed of it would be!

If your cat was stuck in a box and when you checked in on it and it was dead. That was you

The cat wouldn't see the dynamite explode either way. Either:
1. It won't explode, or
2. It will kill the cat instantly. Dead cats don't see anything.

What happens if a non-human species, say a dog, witnesses the cat after opening the box, but does not comprehend whether the cat is dead or alive?

I know about the whole paradox thing but wouldn't you hear and feel the explosion and that's why Schrodinger's gas method is preferred?

But isn't this just from thr perspective of the human consciousness? Like what does us observing it really mean? Our eyes seeing and realizing what happened right? That would be strange though, at what point is it exactly "observed", when the box somehow opens without someone being nearby would it still be in superposition? But if the cat survives and walks out and someone in another room sees it leave the room the box was in, wouldn't that mean nature made a decision without any concious observers? Or is anything that isn't part of the box and what's inside an observer

The issue with this concept is that it just kinda feels like us hoomans just saying, “we smart therefore we GODS!” There is no logic behind this other then it bassicly saying that us, creatures that randomly evolved out of chance, are somehow different and posses more power over the world just because we have a slightly more advanced brain. The human ego at its dumbest.

Ngl you could probably hear the gunpowder go off or not

I'm always thought of this when i was still a kid, thinking to myself that things could've took a different turn until i interrupted it

Well after enough time we'll smell the decaying body if it is dead, also not looking inside the box enough time the cat will die of thirst

That still doesnt change tge fact of it dying or not. We just cant observe it

Anything you put in a box is both dead and alive

I think the cat is more likely to be dead than alive because it had more chances to die and once it dies it can revive even if the gunpowder wouldn't go of in the next try.
