Japan is fascinating! Wish i could have seen it like it was a few hundred years ago

I'm kinda bias (maybe), but from what little experience I had there, I'd say Japan is very interesting and amazing place to go to as vacation destination... but not that good if you want to live or work.

The work culture there is already infamous for being toxic (overworking is common), there's a lot of Japanese people on youtube who are open about it (look it up).

Then there's the stereotypes of Japanese people (generally), to put it simple : xenophobic. From my experience staying there for a month, most of the people are indifferent toward strangers even among fellow Japanese, but they are even more indifferent especially toward foreigners.

Also, they don't like flashing smiles to random people (contrary to how media portrait them) and they don't like rowdiness. Basically, no yelling or speaking loudly in public places (also in apartment with no sound-proofs).

The society there is also very strict and unforgiving, if you live there then you have to follow their rule and guidelines to a tee (and avoid making trouble at all costs). One missteps/wrong-doing and you'll be the talk of all the moms in the neighborhood and your social life is over.
