I feel like when our character was looking for “it”, that was a result of the paranoia that he got from the events beforehand. Things felt off after the colony “thrived” and the captain decided to make sure that everything was going to result in the best possible outcome. Unfortunately, this meant dooming the future of the colonists, which we later see when we trap them in the cave. So yeah, “it” wasn’t some new character or anything, it was just the captain going insane thinking something bad was going to happen because of what had happened in the other timelines.

You didnt get the worst ending, you actually got the canon ending. Before you go into the light, there are a couple endings, but after thatthere are only 2 endings and you got one of them, but there are a lot of options leading to the endings, with some teasing ISWM part 2 (which is why the timer appears in the end). But yeah, amazing experience and there is more to come

I think you may have misinterpreted the “it” ending. The point is, in that ending, everything was going right after it had all gone wrong, so Mark was constantly telling you to relax, but your paranoia was proven right when the wormhole showed up. But the bad thing is, you were led down a path of intense paranoia for the rest of your life, leading you to believe “it” was coming, and no one would contest you because you were right about the wormhole. It’s unique to that ending, it really has nothing to do with your character as a whole.
