Another cop claiming you need to give ID because they asked. If citizens have to follow lawful commands of police officers, than the police should have to follow the law when performing their duty and not be allowed to lie like that.

After that interaction I'd probably walk to a nearby place and get coffee, or browse a bookstore. I'd avoid going to my vehicle (with license plates they can use to ID me) until they were long gone.

Rialto PD... No surprise...The officer from the word go admitted you had a tri-pod and not a firearm, the interaction between you and them should have stopped there. "Law enforcement"....Not always the sharpest blades in a 101 was achieved!
