We need trades people and medical staff. Not minimum wage unskilled workers who leech gov subsidies.

What about Canadians living here? Nothing for them

How come most newcomers accepted are from non European countries and are dark skinned? My partner is European from a Slavic country (not Ukrain) and wasn't given this kind of training when he came to Canada.

It'd be nice if people who were born in canada got this option. But we have to save and go into debt or ask government agencies to help us.

As long as new immigrants come in they must learn the language.english or french . Many immigrants cannot speak English.they must learn English, read and write to be a cdn citizen like other European countries. So we can all live together

The food industry is horrible and that is why most owners in the food industry need to go after immigrants who are fresh off the boat. Then, these immigrants will be used & abused as much as possible. Pay and work conditions were not discussed in this video because it is slavery and very few people who are born and raised in Canada actually want to do such jobs, and if they do, it is nothing long term. That being said, there are some decent places that pay and treat employees better but it is definitely not the norm. Hope these immigrants can get to do something they actually choose and enjoy, while contributing to the society and their new home at the same time.

Ive never seen someone so excited about learning how to make a bed. I guess it’s all perspective. Good for them for trying to integrate and feeling grateful and hopeful. I wish them the best.

Hey CBC. We don't give two shits about these people. Canadians are the priority. Not the unwanted guests.

Don't mix immigrants with refugees and ones who were sponsored ... they all are 3 very different groups of newcomers... Immigrants come with money ( for 1 year as minimum for the whole family), education, working history, health exam, police check and they speak English ( they must pass English exams and get good results)... So, an average immigrant is much healthier and better educated than an average Canadian... Immigrants are ready to work and they are low stress for our healthcare.. The other 2 groups come as is... sponsored people are on support from their sponsors from 3 year up to forever ( depends on the type of sponsorship)... Only refuges depend on government support or else...
