In a Canada immigration news, a senior economist states that the demand for immigrants to fill jobs is anticipated to hit the roof in 2021 as companies recommence operations and their employees start retiring and quitting their jobs in much greater numbers than they did in the year 2020.

He further mentions that, “Labour market hesitation during the Covid-19 pandemic led to a noteworthy decline in voluntary job departures.

“Retirements dropped 20 per cent compared to the pre-pandemic phase which was March 2019 to February 2020, while the number of individuals leaving jobs because of discontent fell 40 per cent over the same time frame.”
