All of the flashman papers were great. But I think George McDonald Fraser's stories got just a bit more polished in his last few books. Love em all.

I was in a town, West Dundee illinois. There is "The Pinkerton House". They mention the Underground Railroad. Tunnels through the town for hiding slaves. The detective agency. But not strikebreaking.

Just finished Flashman's Winter by Brightwell. Different flavor than Fraser but still very good. And a good history lesson on Russia.
