Abstract: DNA methylation is one of the key regulatory marks that determine gene expression and the fate of cell differentiation. Each cell type contains a unique pattern of DNA methylation. By analyzing the methylation patterns, cancer cells can also be differentiated from normal tissue cells. Furthermore, biomarkers for cancer malignancy can be analyzed by comparing methylation patterns from different stages. For methylome analysis, bisulfite and enzymatic conversions are typically used to convert methylation data into sequence-based information. Twist human methylome panels are useful for marker discovery from tissue samples, and more targeted sequencing is possible with customized methylome panels. Liquid biopsy requires high-depth sequencing data from cell-free DNA fragments. Applications and advantages of methylome will be discussed during this webinar.
