Same problem. Tried HP Online support. Says the serial number is not enough to find printer - needs product name. I enter the product name (exactly as displayed in the HP app) and it says "product invalid". Have to unplug it and plug it back in every time I want to print.

I have this problem too. I have set up the printer several times now, it'll print for a while, and then suddenly decides to stop working. This has caused me huge issues with preparing materials for my classes. I think I may return it if I can't get it working today.

I encountered the same issue, which was resolved after I reached out to HP customer services. It appears that you are currently utilizing Instant Ink despite being unsubscribed. You have two options: you can either use regular ink (non-Instant Ink), or you can resubscribe and reinstall the printer with Instant Ink.

I figured this out. The setup is not complete. What you have to do is setup an Hp account when prompted and then verify your email address and finally the last step is to either subscribe or decline the ink supply trial. Once you do that then the printer will finish setup and orange light will stop.

Same exact problem on all of my HP laserjet printers… definitely junk Now they say something is wrong with the HP server that it functions from. Wasted hours and hours trying to figure out. HP is junk do not buy. We also have another unit brand new, worked a couple weeks then suddenly stopped working and says to check app for more info, which does not exit … Never buy a printer from HP we have many failing seems it could be as they claim that HP has issues with some server

Same issue. The money I’m losing bc of this issue. I got mine from Walmart…is that where they send the reject HP printers and charge too much for knowing it’s defective 😢

Anche io ho lo stesso problema . Nonostante abbia scaricato il HP Smart creato il account HP e poi cominciato la configurazione e seguendo tutti i passi, succede che non funziona.

Used this one for 2 weeks.. Got rid of it and bought a brother printer.. Best decision

Disgusting. I spent 2hrs to connect it properly. It has been working for a while and the other week the same misery repeted again.

if the computer doesnt have wifi, it wont find it, had the same problem, then i tried setting it up with my phone, i connected the printer to the network, and then the computer found it and it worked like a charm

Jako drukarka offline jest bezuzyteczna. Ciagle chce sie polaczyc z siecia, wymusza utworzenie konta na hp, wydruk z kabla graniczy z cudem, brak kontaktu z centrum hp poprzez email i telefon. NIE POLECAM!!!!

The remedy is to recicle the printer, just OFF and later ON. I did It some weeks ago. The printer Will be WiFi activated. And without problem.

Experienced exactly the same. It couldn't register the printer to HP Cloud services. I've made a factory reset and it completed the registration flow that time and works perfectly ever since. Hope this helps :)
