Absolutely. Good stuff. I know I have always felt as a clay baseliner that "depth" was more important that anything. Result is I hit a lot of balls long. I think the fix to raise the elevation over the net is tougher to do that hit to a BIG target because it does require a modicum of stroke adjustment (loopier, topspin).
I just watched a video from Martina Navritolova on dropping the first volley (for server rushing net) a bit short, forcing the opponent to hit up. I was always taught to drive that first volley deep (which resulted in several errors). Just dropping it in a very safe large target is SO MUCH EASIER and gets better results.
Thanks Brent.

Thanks Brent!!  This is a Great video with Fred Robinson.  When you were in Charlotte 2 years ago, you also emphasized this advice from Fred in your explanation to us in the 7 Strategies for Seniors. Hope you do well in Atlanta!!

Thanks guys. It's sooo painful for me to use my brain while playing this crazy game - but I'm gonna try - you've motivated me! :) Jeff

So about a 30% of the shots area errors? For the pros. And maybe 50% for amateurs? Does this hold true for higher level players like 5.0?
