In this video I show you how I built this dust collection cart complete with cyclone separator. I go step by step though the process of building it as well why I chose this design.

Simple and practical. All you need it to be. Just retired so building ithis in the week I think. Slightly different pipe array but end result will be (hopefully) the same. Thanks for idea.

Bought the plans and built this, very satisfied, this is a great design for a small shop.

The only thing I have done differently was I added a 20-gallon garbage pail because the 5-gallon pail really fills quickly form the planer. I really like your use of the PVC piping. Great build

Who the hell can watch this and hit the THUMBS DOWN button? Thanks for a clear, crisp instructional video.

This is sweet. My set up was a real pain in the ass and ended up unused and always a plugged filter on the vac. Thank you. I’ll be making one of these as my next shop project for sure

For anyone wondering about the various connectors. The PVC is 2" thick, so are the 90 degree elbows. Two black 90 degree connectors come with the dust deputy. The remaining two rubber connectors are Fernco P1056-22 (2 inch x 2 inch), available widely in HD & Lowes for roughly $5 each.

Great idea of having the cart on casters
This solves my problem by alternating the cart between two rows of machines on opposed walls
Some how never came to think of it
So french cleat gone caster wheels rolled in

Will do, at this time cannot install dust collection system due to inadequate power, need to do cleanup afterwards. I have a Rigid and the Deputy, this plan will make lugging it around much easier and then the hoses won't pop out of their fittings.

I like it. I had another plan in mind for a very long time - tomorrow is the day! (OK - maybe a two day project. I may need groceries. . . ) Easier and more compact than the other plan I had intended to make. In particular since I have the Home Depot version of the cyclone. I guess I'm not wed to the birch plywood. It the stuff holds the tools, I want my end products to be beautiful - the shop tools don't have to be beautiful. I have base and top pieces. I saw one piece at Ace that will suffice for sides. Uh yeah - more PVC also on the shopping list. And the rubber connectors, as well as clamps. I don't have this stuff laying around. . . . After this - a mini-log sled to cut up my raw wood. . . . .

Thanks for the design. This is exactly what I would like to make. Best design that I have seen yet.

Great video. Probably the best most well-reasoned explanation I've seen. And timely. My Dust Deputy arrives today.

I build my Oneida Dust Deputy vertical and my chief complaint is no place to store the hose. Now I am looking for another option, but so many out there do not address the need to somehow store the hose. What I do like about yours is the use of the PVC connecting the vac and the Dust Deputy. This is also a much more stable version. I will need to come up with a way to modify this to store the hose.
