My lil Everdell is pretty damned good as far as kids games go. And why did i pick this to review you wonder? Well, two reasons. One, we have a wee one now and while shes still a fair few years away from being old enough to play this. Kids games will be of increasing interest to me as time goes on. And the 2nd reason, just for a change of pace. Not every game i cover has to be a big super serious game. And the idea of doing a kids game seemed like a fun change of pace.

I bought this for my niece when it came out! Cute adaptation and it's nice to see some kid targeted games that don't have annoying sound effects.

It is so cool to have good kids games now that involve making choices and learning the basic mechanics of board gaming as well. Will have to keep an eye out for this one - it looks proper quality too with the tokens and resources 😊We have loved seeing more and more families coming to BGBTB too - I will forever be grateful to the very patient young men who played full Scythe with a random 10yo, so we are very grateful for My Little Scythe to teach others (and what a fun game to get into painting minis).

This looks great, but I think I'll keep Everdell on the wishlist. While the big game is a little challenging for my almost 10yo, she understands the mechanics and enjoys building her tableau without worrying about scoring/strategy. If she were younger, this would've been awesome. This mum loves that you'll be doing more kid games! 🥰

What? Hearing the Kia Ora while I’m trying to play this game really threw me off in a good way. Woohoo. Appreciate the quick recap really helps my brain to get through the content in more manageable small bite sizes chunks rather than watching a full on game play through appreciate it!

Just bought this for myself and my partner. The appeal here was obviously the theme but the complexity and playtime, this seems to align more with a quicker game we can get to the table and I don't have to worry about a ton of rules yet still has some good mechanisms. Also similar weight to other things we like to play such as Lost Cities and Forbidden Island.

So cute! I wish my niece's were nerds like me, they wouldnt be able to sit still to learn the rules. Soo cute want it just for my collection anyway 😅

It's a great game! Our 5 yo loves it and the art + tableau building keeps her invested in actually playing and making her little kingdom of cute woodland critters. This, my first ticket to ride (ttr junior?), outfoxed and ghost fightin treasure hunters are all games I can get behind as ones that she plays and enjoys the actual gameplay of and I can genuinely enjoy playing with her.

My lil red dust rebellion must surely be on the cards?

So I guess we're destined for the "My Little" multiverse of boardgames.

I have Lords of Waterdeep and was considering teaching it to my 8 year old. This may be more up his alley. Trying to sell the theme of waterdeep may be difficult...

I sooo want to get this for my daughter...she's just not that much into board games (at least for now). I guess daddy's hobbies have yet to rub off on her^^

It reminds me of Gamelyn Game's "Tiny Epic" series after a fashion, especially after Mike Kaltman's comment.

Taking a large game and ""Lil-fying" it. Keeping the soul of the game, but making it shorter and more simple so young kids or even less board-gamey adults (i'm not judging) can enjoy it.

I sure am making up a lot of terms today. Termifying?

My family, especially my wife, love Everdell, so this game intrigues me, but I keep trying to decide when are my kids too old for kids' games. (My youngest is somehow already 10 years old.)

Can't wait for "My Lil Here I Stand" and "My Lil Dune" to help against a very long, rainy day with a group of kids. ;)

Idk about you, but I can see the appeal of baby versions of more weighty board games.

I am sorry, but I would rather teach a kid how to play Everdell than confuse the crap out of them later when they switch to Everdell. Why. Not keep the same freaking dynamics in both games. Kids are not stupid, so why dumb down the game, why not just make it shorter.
