It should also be pointed out that if you build a manufactury in a trade node you don't control other, potentially enemy, nations can take advantage of that through steering the trade to their benefit.

Meanwhile I am so rich in my current campaign that I literally built 0.02 ducats farm estates in trade regions I don't control just because tech 11 was still so far away.

Those farm estates will eventually get useful when I expand even more and until then my neighbours get more trade income making their war reparations bigger. :D

Now it all makes sense, I felt enlightened when I began understand how trade works in eu4
But now I understand that I have not yet become enlightened, and I have so much more to learn

Thanks for this tip. I always just built the ones that would give the most amount of extra income without checking which trade node or trade good was affected

Another thing to note is that you want to put it in the "beginning/back" of your trade route if you have the option of multiple nodes. If it passes through 3 trade nodes you have 100% power in, you'll get even more value as the trade multiplies node by node!

Ok, so, basically, take the income of the manufactory, divide by the cost of the manufactory, then you multiply by the cost of the workshop, in a nutshell, this will be the minimal value of workshops you should build before you scale harder with manufactories(excluding trade)

Claim: if you have good trade steering and control a node that is downstream from your home node, it is actually more profitable to start building them there than your main node. Provided your main node isn’t much more developed and have better trade goods.

Is this true? Or is the trade steering modifier independent of the added value?
