A few weeks ago I did a sushi episode of WELL YOUR WEEKEND, my live interactive cooking show. While making sushi by hand is fun from time to time, it can be a hassle and sometimes (most times) I'm just not the best sushi roller in the world. I've been eating quite a bit of this Sushi Bowl lately, because it gets all of the flavors of sushi in there with a quarter of the work. I love eating this sushi bowl when I'm on the go, and I find that it makes a perfect packable easy vegan lunch. I did this sushi bowl SOS-free: no salt, sugar, or oil. I even whipped up a sauce at the end that you can try! The recipe amounts are listed below.

Sushi Sauce:
3 cloves garlic
1/4 cup water
Juice from half a lemon
1 tsp ginger
3 T Tahini
1 T Sriracha

Dill and Reebs, We've made deconstructed sushi bowls at least 10 times in the last 2 months. Even converted a tuna roll lover to a veggi bowl lover. We sub in 1/2 t wasabi for the sriracha - wasabi just seems so much more "sushi". Also discovered cheater carrots. And practically eliminated the chopping with the slicer blade on my food processor. Thanks so much for the recipe and idea. We love it. Super enjoy your channel.

Love! In a pinch I use a splash of seasoned rice vinegar on my brown rice then top with Furikake seasoning from Trader Joe's (which is nori cut up into tiny pieces plus sesame seeds and kelp powder I think) and it's so good!

Hey Dillon I didn't read all the comments to see if someone else mentioned it yet but I think shredded purple cabbage would be tasty and also pretty in this bowl. Plus I gotta have vegan kimchi in any bowl. Love your videos ! 😉

Had this for lunch today. It was delicious! Much easier than rolls, but I'll still make the rolls because they can be fun to eat and dip in simple soy sauce.

Pro tip, if you use a gallon size ziplock bag you won’t fight the plastic as badly. I’ve been doing my own for 7 years or so and don’t even use the mat anymore, but the ziplock trick worked wonders!!

Recently I found a nori that has no oil - brand Little Jasmine. It's a woman owned company too. I love it! I stopped eating nori for awhile because of all the oils in them.

Sushi bowl definitely! Wouldn't be bothered to roll them however I do love the rolls.

I like the sushi BOWL -- but with a bigger bowl. Just got a 90-oz. bowl (for pho and one-pot type meals) and LOVE it...! No worries about anything falling out the sides when I toss everything.
