FAA should refuse to certify any further Boeing aircraft while these people are still in management positions.

That's a joke of a fine.
Boeing managers can pay 1.25million from their back pockets

The FAA should not outsource it’s responsibility to the manufacturer.

Easily fixed. The ODA inspectors should be on the FAA payroll, not Boeings. He who pays the piper plays the tune.

These problems are systemic and ongoing.
We USED to be quality inspectors. Now it's more about quantity. Gotta keep the fat cats happy....

Just when you think there is light at the end of the Boeing tunnel there is yet another plunge into darkness.

The problems at Boeing date back to the MD merger. It is said MD basically bought Boeing with Boeings own money. MD was the company that was going broke and Boeing was the success. So they threw out Boeings model and started using MDs failed model. MD had been obsessed with pleasing Wall Street rather than engineering excellence. While pleasing Wall Street can give short term profits, it destroys the company, . Engineering Excellence will win every time. The problems at Boeing involve putting Wall Street profit oriented types rather than engineers in charge. Boeing's board needs reform to be run by a majority of engineers and floor workers, with the finance types being in the minority. Boeing put a plant at SC to avoid Unions. Unions are what have made many companies a success since they very often provide a quality assurance check and raise issues about quality issues. This actually saves many companies in the long run.

FAA, trying so hard to save its reputation, why not fine themselves too for letting Boeing do the inspections in the first place lol.

Oh dear. Would have thought Boeing and The FAA were hoping to leave the naughty corner.

This sort of pressure, is typical of all big company's.
But in this case, it cost's lives and Boeing are being found out.
This company needs to look at them self's, especially on a moral basis, not money basis.
Come on Boeing, get rid of the accountant managers, start doing things properly & safely.
These are lives, not dollars.

They don't learn. This is what's costig them billions & their reputation. Why isn't the FAA task being done by themselves.

Who would have thought getting Boeing employees to carry out FAA inspections could go wrong?

1.25 million is like nothing.
Ask yourself, how much does a single 737MAX costs.

The latest self inflicted nail in the coffin of Boeings safety reputation. Absolutely damning, and not nearly severe enough a punishment

Managers involved were punnished by not getting a promotion!?
Until you put those bastards for 5 years in prison for jeopardizing people lives, nothing will change.

Fire all executives at Boeing, and replace them with an entire new team. This whole group of personnel have brought Boeing's name and reputation down into the ethers. In order for Boeing to gain the trust of anyone now, there must be new leadership. Period.

1.25 mil is loose change for a company like boeing. Probably they interfered here also
