Exclusive: Parents of jailed autistic teen speak out

Matt Morgan, 17, has accepted a plea deal and will spend the next fifteen years in prison for setting a fire that killed his 14-month-old half-brother. Now, his parents are being blamed for allowing the autistic teen -- with a fire fascination -- to babysit. They talked exclusively to Dr. Drew about how they are responding to the critics.

I always pray to God that Jacob will be safe from those cold blooded murderers in his cell. I hope there is a very good attorney who will help him...

this case needs to be reopened. he's spending time in jail for a crime he didn't commit. the parents need to be brought to justice

My son who has autism use to exhibit the same body movements and facial expressions as Jacob when he would have his severe meltdowns as a teen. I prepared myself with advise from doctors and lots of research on the proper ways to parent my son and even then it was hard. I think what happened is a result of his parents not being educated enough or taking the initiative to take care of their special needs son. He may have not been severely autistic but still needed special care. It is very well possible the parents weren't capable of taking care of him properly due to their own mental capacity.

That whole investigation was illegal from the get!!! There has to be a lawyer present for anyone under the age of 18. This boy was 17. Plus I have looked into this. And so many red flags caught my attention. And I personally believe that a group of kindergarten kids would done a better job with investigation. Than the jackass's with a badge did. And the judge ain't all that smart either. I strongly believe that Jacob Matthew mogan should be set Free!!!

Every time I see the clip of this boy crying like that it breaks my heart. At worst he needs to be in a hospital, not prison. I pray for him.
